Dance Movement Psychotherapy
Online Therapy Sessions
Online Therapy can take several different forms, depending on how you prefer to express yourself.
Simultaneous communication or "live" sessions can take place over:
-
Video call (Zoom or MS Teams)
-
Telephone call
-
Instant messaging

"Asynchronous" sessions, where there is a time delay of up to several days between messages, can take place via:
-
Email counselling

Online therapy sessions can be a great option for people who live further away, aren't able to travel to sessions because of work or family commitments, or who have physical barriers to travelling. You do need access to a private space for the duration of your therapy session.

In an online creative therapy session you may want to stay seated or you may want to get up and move around for part of the session - depending on how much space you have. You may also want to have pens & paper with you in case you want to draw or write during the session.

I will ask you to pay attention to your body, and explore any thoughts or images that come up for you using different creative approaches.

Not all issues are suitable to explore using online therapy, if you are looking for support with significant mental health issues, addiction or disordered eating, then I may direct you towards in-person therapy services.
